This site provides
general information about the Virginia Workers'
Compensation Commission ("VWC"), its procedures
and the Virginia Workers' Compensation Act. The VWC has its own official
web site: http://www.vwc.state.va.us.

unofficial site is provided as an additional reference resource
to the public and to attorneys.
About the Author
This Web Page is authored by
Richard F. Gorman, III, a former Deputy Commissioner of
the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission. He has
also served as an Assistant Attorney General and has
presented CLE programs on Workers' Compensation, the
Americans with Disabilities Act, and federal civil rights
actions under 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1983. He has taught classes
in Constitutional Law, Corrections Law, Criminal Law,
Criminal Procedure and Evidence as an Adjunct Professor
at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond,
Virginia. Mr. Gorman is now in private law practice at 117 South 14th
